We always felt the promo and album art we sent out should reflect "The Source" too. We put a lot of work into it, and wanted it to portray the fun, sense of adventure, and sincerity of our songs and personalities. When we hooked up with graphic artist Gary Rittenour, we found our match! He definitely became an "Honorary Source Guy". He was responsible for most of the artwork and graphics on our records, as well as most of the promo postings below. We would all put our heads together and come up with a general concept of what we wanted. Gary always came in wide eyed and open to whatever we threw at him, almost as if to say," OK folks, let's get down to some SERIOUS fun! We would then turn him loose to do his magic. It went beyond being just a job for Gary. We always appreciated his efforts and upbeat attitude.
We also did a lot of day trips to promote The Source. Jeff and I would put our albums and promo stuff in the back of Jeff's van or my car and go to each college town within a few hundred miles of our area. We would drop off records at the local record store(s), find a college radio station and set up an interview, or occasionally do an impromptu interview on the spot. Things could get pretty loose. Sometimes we would find a contact person to get a gig, or do a radio drop or two. (Radio drops were when the band would record the call letters of the station, followed by some goofy ad lib about ourselves. The station would then play the drop just before one of our songs.)... It was another of the many hats we wore... Always a crazy time!
